The School of Detroit Metropolitan Dance Student Ambassadors

The School of Detroit Metropolitan Dance Student Ambassador program provides a platform for students to share their experiences about training and performing at the School of DMD. By participating in the program, our student ambassadors develop organizational and leadership skills as they cultivate self-confidence through public speaking and social media advocacy. Ambassadors are selected through an application process. The ideal candidate is a dedicated School of DMD dancer, possesses a passion for the art form, and seeks to be a leader among their peers. DMD’s Special Events Coordinator, Katy Hall, mentors our ambassadors and helps them learn about and navigate the “dos and don’ts” of social media and digital branding along with guidance on being a public representative for the School of DMD at community events.

DMD Ambassador Requirements to Apply:

  • Ambassadors must be ages 13 & up 

  • Parent/guardian permission is needed for students under 18 years old.

  • Submit application below with explanation as to why they want to be an ambassador and why they love to dance at DMD. How will they represent the Detroit Metropolitan Dance organization?

  • Ambassadors must have social media presence and permission from parents to represent DMD.

  • Ambassadors must be enrolled in two or more classes and attend classes regularly.

  • Ambassadors must be available to attend 2-3 DMD events, including Family Banquet.

DMD Ambassador Duties:

  • Repost 3 or more School of DMD Instagram posts to feed or story a month.

  • Post 2 or more times per month representing the school and tag @schoolofeisenhowerdancedetroit (and @eisenhowerdancedetroityouth if part of DMDYC)

  • Ambassadors must be available to attend 2-3 DMD events, including Family Banquet.

  • Receive new DMD merchandise and help model on social media

  • Help film and demonstrate for online tutorials posted to social media and the DMD website

  • Help backstage at showcase dress rehearsals and performances
